The top 3 lifters for this leg were: Steve Andrews, Andy Tomlin & Gary Ell – congratulations guys! The top 3 teams were Granby, Castlemilk and MetamorFIT1. Well done to all those that took part.
Chris Bass hosted the Midlands All-Round with lifters contesting the Clean & Seated Press, Continental Snatch and the Reflex Clean & Jerk. The gyms new platform proved to be just the ticket! – well done Chris!

Steve receives the Edward Aston Trophy Presented here by Paul Barette (IAWA UK Vice President)
The ‘Aston’ Set comprises of the Front Squat, One Hand Barbell Snatch and the Continental Clean & Jerk. Recently contested in Leg 1 of the Bob Smith All-Round Postal League.
A presentation was made to Steve Andrews at the Midlands All-Round competition.
Steve receives the trophy for placing top position in the 2017 Bob Smith All-Round Postal League.

The very first Northern Ireland Championships were an outstanding success. Promoted by Stevie Shanks and Steve Gardner in an effort to engage with a number of lifters from Northern Ireland and to create what we hope to be a new permanent fixture.
The competition was well supported by visitors from the mainland and 9 lifters made it to the platform. Unfortunately some were unable to make it due to the recent bad weather.

Best Masters and overall champion went to Paul Barette with Clive Madge in second place and new NI lifter Jason Kelly in 3rd place. Best Open Lifter Gareth Edwards and Best Ladies lifter Karen Gardner.

MetamorFIT once again hosted the Southern Counties Championships in Eastbourne.

Only a small group of lifters made it to the platform contesting the Bench Press Feet In Air, the One Hand Dumbbell Clean & Jerk and the Trap Bar Deadlift.
The overall winner and Best Open lifter was Rory Hoad.
The British Grip Championships were held on 3rd February hosted by promoter Mark Haydock.

The overall champion and best masters lifter was Pete Tryner with Mark Haydock and Gary Ell as runners up in the masters. The best open lifter was Matt Wells and the special star of the show was young Natalie Haydock at 8 years old.
